SPAM FILTERING
BWTelcom offers a Spam Filtering feature for its Internet Users' convenience. If you're tired
of receiving junk e-mails, activate this free service via WebMail on BWTelcom's homepage to
filter your emails.
If you are not familiar with BWTelcom's WebMail, it's a quick, convenient way to check your
email messages, even when you're not at home. All you need is an internet connection. Find
the BWTelcom homepage [www.bwtelcom.net], click on the WebMail button, and log on.
To Log into BWTelcom WebMail:
1. Enter your Login Name [the word(s) before the @ in you bwtelcom.net e-mail address.
Example: if your e-mail address is johndoe@bwtelcom.net, your Login Name is johndoe.]
2. Enter your Password [the password you use to connect to the Internet is the same for your
webmail, if your password is automatically defaulted on log-in and you've forgotten it, call us.]
3. Click "Enter"
To activate the Junk Mail Filtering feature:
1. Click on the "click here" link in the first paragraph.
2. On the next page, "BWTelcom.net Spam Filtering", enter your Username and Password
(the same as your Login Name and Password) and press "Login".
3. Click to "Enable Spam Filtering".
The Tolerance Level is defaulted to the recommended "3" level. You may change this level
at any time. Read the FAQs about Spam Filtering for more information on how the Tolerance
Levels are determined.
4. Click "Finished" to activate the feature.
Allow List and Block List:
If you have specific e-mail addresses you always want to receive, add them to the Allow List.
If there are e-mail addresses you always want to block and not ever see, add them to the Block
List. Enable these lists as needed and click "Finished".
We suggest you check you Junk Mail Box at least weekly as messages are automatically deleted
after 10 days.
To view the Junk Mail Box after activating the Spam Filtering feature, go to BWTelcom's
homepage click on the Web Mail button, log in using your Login Name and Password. Select
"Mailboxes" and then "Junk Mail".
From this screen, you are able to view messages that have been sent to Junk Mail by clicking on
them. You may delete or move these items as you wish using the buttons at the bottom of the
screen.
